【摘要】:ThistestmethodcoversaBallRustTest(BRT)procedureforevaluatingtheanti-rustabilityoffluidlubricants.Theprocedureisparticularlysuitablefortheevaluationofautomotiveengineoilsunderlow-temperature,acidicserviceconditions.InformationLettersarepublishedoccasionallybytheASTMTestMonitoringCenter(TMC)toupdatethistestmethod.Copiesoftheseletterscanbeobtainedbywritingthecenter.ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinotherunitsshallberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,useeachsystemindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.See7.1.1-7.1.3and8.2.1.1.
